Happy Halloween

Due to rain in the forecast, we decided to break with tradition and set up the display the day before Halloween. Got a bunch of photos before a light rain started to fall around midnight. Bean and I wished each other a Happy Halloween as we stood there listening to the tapping on the leaves. Then we put the props into the garage and drove home. If the haunt gets rained out tonight, it'll be comforting to know that the display was technically up and running on Halloween (and during the witching hour). Cool.

That's the Fourth Witch sitting in the shadows. A prop costume I made to hand out candy.

Happy Halloween, everyone.
Hope it's clear and dry for you.

Absolutly stunning. I love the death isle. It is like you are being led to the witch for sacrifice. I believe it is your best one to date.

Wonderful! Happy Halloween you two, hope the weather works out. Ours got some 24 hour rain and the witch broke an arm, good 1st effort, its on for next year. I definitely will need some advice on better prop construction. Thanks for inspiring me to get creative.

Happy Halloween! That looks amazing. It's already lightly raining here, most of my cornstalks I'm using this year are already messed up from all the rain and wind, and my paper mache' props are soggy but we're going to try to make the most of it. Hopefully, it'll clear up sometime today.

Can't wait to see the rest of your pictures.

Happy Halloween you guys! AMAZING display. I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures. That costume looks incredible.

We're in for rain high winds over here. Looks like I'm going to have to work around it somehow. It really sucks.

They're still calling for possible showers here today too. But as it turns out, it's the wind that's giving me all the grief today. And as I type this, I just heard something fall over again. *sigh*

Happy halloween all, though in a day late writing so. Our haunt was a disaster, well just the party. Everything was running had to keep re-lighting a few candles due to the rain (NC here). The halloween bon fire was covered with a massive pool cover on fri when i realized that the rain was a coming. Last night, the rain came, but we had our fire. At 11pm it was all but extinguished due to the rain, all in all we had fun, and had some trick-r-treaters spite the rain. Great setup as usual again Rot. I cant wait to see all the pics!

Looks like your best year ever. Thanks for all you do and for sharing it. You inspired me to do more this year (and better) than in the past. As a result, I had a nice feeling of accomplishment and fun too.

In the Shenandoah Valley, we actually had a nice evening with looming clouds. Around 10:00 pm the rain started and drizzled all night. Nice to know the pumpkins were out there with a light nourishing rain and their candles would quietly expire some time in the night.

Loving it. I especially like that it is strictly orange and black.
Do you ever have kids that are too scared to come up and get candy? Or are there parents that keep their kids away, because your work is so realistic and scary?

Rot said...

Every year we get more and more kids that cry and refuse to come up for candy. The rain prevented us from seeing how kids would have reacted to the Corn Witch prop costume, but I'm thinking it would have given some of the little ones nightmares : )

It was creeping US out when my brother was inside moving the head around.
