The Mr. Jones Project

We've decided to track down all the information we could find on the scarecrows of Mr. Jones which were sent to folks all over the world in the 1970s (the verifiable ones).  This is our attempt to document those pieces.

I hope Mr. Jones didn't send any in my area. I don't want to go through any more nightmares than I already am now.

how Clever!!..<333333333

it's funny how a line from a book or a movie will play over & over in your head. the one from Mr. Jones that really struck me (it's always there) is "a housewife leaving her family & disappearing into the woods". that's IT right there, sooo powerful.

It's going to be tricky tracking down these folks.

Yeah. I loved loved LOVED the concept behind Mr Jones. I find that I've pondered the story more than most of the horror films I've seen of late. Just fun to think about what Mr Jones' was protecting us from... and why he needed to send totems to folks.

Speaking of tracking down the scarecrows, what happened to them after the film was finished?

Divided up amongst the crew.
I hear the director put one on his porch last Halloween. Don't know which one though. : )

Hello :) not sure if you'd ever see my comment being that it's a later post. But I've been dying to say how phenomenal your scarecrows are Pumpkinrot and you are truly an inspiration. Great work :)
I just love the Mr.Jones film. He is a very fascinating character. The story itself is even more fascinating. It does make one wonder what he's protecting people from...hope the recipients don't ever lose the scarecrows or surely that could post a problem for them since there's no coming back from wherever they're taken to lol.

Thanks! Really glad you dig the scarecrows.
I really love the film too and I'm so glad that was the first film I've ever worked on...couldn't be more pleased being the guy who was asked to make Mr. Jones' scarecrows.
Was hoping there'd be a sequel...would love to see that crazy scarecrow recipient guy go hunting for the "new" Mr. Jones. But I don't think that'll happen.
