The Blackcoat's Daughter

We rented this tonight and were blown away.
Slow burn, atmospheric and intensely creepy.
Cinematography was like watching a dark oil painting...

Loved Osgood Perkins' I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives In The House, so he's two for two.
His brother Elvis' scores for both films were perfect.

Yeah, i remember when you posted his other movie here (i am the pretty thing...) i still think of that movie & it's sound of the rain. sigh. i'm really looking forward to this one now!!! i like your dark oil painting description, sounds like a Rembrandt painting, with how his (faces) portraits always swim up, sorta golden, thru his rich black backgrounds. i wonder if there's a Tony Perkins cameo in this one!!! He would be/is SO proud of those boys i'm sure. :))))))))))))

we caught that movie, "Get Out" at the theatre last week. Omggggggggggg. it's soooooooo gooood!!! like the way, Rosemary's Baby & Stepford Wives are good. it will keep you on the edge of your seat. & it's got some real NICE Kubrick imagery goin on as well. it should be nominated for a few awards, but, it's Horror, so you know how that goes.
