I also tried planting corn one year and was having great success until the raccoons raided them one night leaving nothing but busted stalks and empty ears. We went with mostly boring stuff, but I do have a half row of corn that's looking really cool. The stalks are about 4' high and dark green. I hope they last long enough for me to cut them and use them on Halloween.
