After researching such anomalous incidents myself, i have to say the director did an excellent job of portraying the essence of what is, at it's core, an inconceivably manipulative phenomenon. As keel said himself in the book, he was more interested in the "source" of the phenomena than it's bizarre, often cartoonish manifestations. The film renders a haunting portrait of that sourceAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-784285653010648547.post-87603277432438459102010-09-23T23:09:42.316-04:002010-09-23T23:09:42.316-04:00Okay, I just finished watching The Mothman Prophec...Okay, I just finished watching The Mothman Prophecies. Having seen a couple of posts here and video clips -- and The Grinning Man entry was just creepy -- I igured I needed to check it out.

Sorry, Necropolis, but put me in the camp of those who disliked this movie to the extreme. Perhaps because I haven't been immersed in the legend I thought the film was a lot of nothing happening.

Maybe it's because I don't like Richard Gere but I thought the performances were rather wooden. Despite that, I'm still interested in finding out more about the legend.

RichFoolishCophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06303115303543987069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-784285653010648547.post-91733420506975734252010-09-19T20:03:03.462-04:002010-09-19T20:03:03.462-04:00Thanks man! :DThanks man! :DSteve Ringhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05701916717122040015noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-784285653010648547.post-16272603251223378682010-09-19T16:40:45.041-04:002010-09-19T16:40:45.041-04:00Well, I'm still VERY impressed, man. : )Well, I'm still VERY impressed, man. : )Rothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11329750481399948095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-784285653010648547.post-7540198469299579602010-09-19T16:34:04.137-04:002010-09-19T16:34:04.137-04:00To be perfectly honest, they just used some crappy...To be perfectly honest, they just used some crappy artwork of mine for the documentary. I have a generally positive impression of it. It certainly reached a broader audience than you'd expect from a movie called The Mothman Prophecies, though obviously it would be neat to see a movie closer to the source material.Steve Ringhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05701916717122040015noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-784285653010648547.post-2862075484882985292010-09-17T11:32:20.191-04:002010-09-17T11:32:20.191-04:00One of my favorite movies.
