Ugh!! I don't miss the actual techn...Tracking!! Ugh!! I don't miss the actual technology, but I will admit there was something special about VHS. It's probably because it was the first tech of that kind, really. I mean, you could get film to play on a home theater projector but it was costly and troublesome, etc. VHS brought everything into the home, opening up doors to films we might not have otherwise seen. It's hard not to be nostalgic about all that: the video store rentals, the box art, even the finesse with which you had to wrangle a cantankerous cassette probably has its fond memories for some.
