A random ivy popped up by my porch so I cordoned it off and let it grow wild. Got to a point where I had to anchor it with a few wire hangers. In August I hanged a skeleton next to it and it consumed it in about a week. It"grabbed" two pumpkin plants and pulled them up about 6 feet into the core if the ivy.

First week of Oct I came home and it had fallen under its own weight. Couldn't re-hang it so I had to cut the skeleton out of the vines and the pumpkins could not be saved either. It was an amazing Triffid up to that point.

Maybe next year :-(
The Creeping Crudshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15452070849063269046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-784285653010648547.post-78345237328992643512014-11-15T21:45:18.241-05:002014-11-15T21:45:18.241-05:00This is a very cool haunt. I need to plant a whole bunch of clematis vines in front of my house, so by the time Halloween comes everything will be covered in vines and mostly dead.

Of course the props will need to be in place before they start to grow. I don't think the wife will go for that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
