this series was so great as a kid because it just felt way to "Wrong" to be aimed at kids. It's so demented. I loved them so much. And even though you could order them from Scholastic book club at school it still felt as if you were getting away with something wrong while you were reading them. Plus, the art was untouchable!
What a great way to start Friday! I have the set at home. The freaky artwork just MAKES it. I can't believe that it's being printed now with 'toned down' art. That just takes the fun out of it!
This book always gave me the willies soley based on the illustrations. "The Toe" always seemed very wrong - what kid harvests a human toe and cooks it? So creepy...

Thanks. Now I'm not going to be able to see tonight.

Oh, how I love this!! I used to love to scare myself to death, as a child, by reading these books.
