New standards have definitely been set here in terms of lighting alone. It's unbelievably good how everything flows seamlessly into one another. I am really excited. These photos belong in a book for perfect haunt lighting. You two have outdone yourselves and I mean that damn seriously.

We REALLY appreciate that! So glad to finally get these photos up.

Well, there goes any semblance of productivity for the afternoon!

It's all gorgeous, and I'm having a ball going through it...congratulations to you both on a fantastic concept flawlessly executed!

Another masterpiece of Halloween haunting. I can only imagine what you'll come up with for next year.

Absolutely gorgeous photos, Rot!!! You are so great at framing all of them to create such perfect compositions. I especially love those long shots down the corridor to the coffin! Divine! #44 with the purple fog is like the dream shot I'm always trying to achieve. Love #41 of the skellie crow close up. The muted colors! So spooky : o And #83! The way you catch those sun rays is magic. I would photoshop out those power lines and voila! A perfect Halloween greeting card. And #87!!!! That black and white is sooooo effective ....to me it seems so reminicent of those weird old Spanish horror films....I think they were Spanish...not from Mexico but not sure. What was the name of that famous director that did the creepy black and white horror films? Anyway that photo really captures that very vague sense of menacing anxiety those films conveyed to me. You never cease to amaze me with you talent for creating a truly cohesive display! Beautiful!

Absolutely gorgeous, macabre haunt filled with ominous tension, insane prop work, lighting and expert storytelling. I can’t imagine being a neighborhood kid lucky enough to have a veritable film set up the street to spark my love of the holiday.

Thanks so much! You guys rule.
We really appreciate the kind words. It was such a fun year. Couldn’t be more pleased.

Love all the photos, particularly #44, the one with the fog crawling down your porch walkway steps. Did you use a chiller or did you just happen to get the right air temperature conditions? We had hoped that with it being so cold on Halloween night and using Froggy's low lying fog juice we'd get lucky, but we're always breezy/windy on top of the hill and we always get a vortex effect that always wants to pull the fog up towards our home's roofline.

Just normal fog juice pumped through a black vented irrigation tube, with four frozen water bottles.

Very nice! Morris looks exactly like what I'd expect to find if I opened an old crypt. And the the Jacks are kinda old-school, but with your own added touch.
More Halloween goodness and inspiration!

TOO GOOD!!! Every detail is impeccable: the fog's hazy glow, the dead flowers, the spiderwebbing, the complementary colors of the lights, the glowing eyes everywhere. Great jack-o faces this year too! It's awesome to watch the walkthrough and hear the Spooky Sounds tape playing. I actually own that cassette too, but I don't have a tape player so I've never heard it! You two did a masterful job this year. Totally NAILED the vibe!

Really just can’t thank you enough for those words.

Mr. Haunted Eve here,
Your simple "fog chiller" design is BRILLIANT! I was contemplating all sorts of complicated garbage can/storage tote chiller designs for 2024, worried about how I could hide the fog machine and chiller container contraption in such a limited space at the front of our house/small porch. I ordered for $13 twelve feet of 4" diameter flexible black perforated landscape drainage hose for testing out next summer (I figured order it now while the price is still low). The paver terrace in front of our dining room window is ~ 13 feet across and we can run the hose behind the mannequins, aedicula and smaller headstone props next Halloween. We'll just slide a bunch of frozen water bottles down the length of the hose. THANK YOU! You solved a huge conundrum for us.

That’s the best news! And the fog lingers in the tube after the fogger fires so that’s an added bonus in between firings. As it always feels like fog is present since it slowly leaks out.

I keep coming back to your haunt photos this year. The first picture I saw was the side of your house washed in a brilliant green color that you posted to Stories. It immediately struck me as such a different style than what you've done in the past. Such a bold color. Then I caught up with the theme in the captions you posted over the week and it made complete sense. Embracing the fact that this is a HOME haunt. We get to see the hanging porch light, the power lines crisscrossing the sky, the brick walls. And even using a rainbow of lighting colors throughout, it still exudes a spooky atmosphere with a drawn out walk to who or what is waiting for you in the coffin. (I swear that purple lighting makes the distance to the coffin look terrifyingly long!) I like the use of various colors to denote different scenes or props within the haunt and to set the mood in each area. I bet it was fun to dive into this theme and the freedom it gave you using the house as an integral feature of the display. I'm not sure freedom is the right word, because you still stuck to the old school, home haunt theme with exacting detail. I can tell you both had fun with this set up and everything that went along with it (like the cards!). And I am having just as much fun taking a virtual walk down the path to your front door. Trick or Treat!

Thank you for sharing all of that!
It was a really special year taking this route with the Haunt. Felt fresh and exciting, and extremely nostalgic. And intensely fun. And that definitely seemed to carry over to anyone visiting. Lots of smiles and laughter. And I like picturing those little cards out there in the world. We went through all of them (kept four) ...and there were a hundred. It was pretty great. SO many kids this year.

So glad you dug it so much.
We really appreciate that!
