Really great scarecrows Jeff! I love the tall nose on the pumpkin crow. And the texture on the skulls this year are awesome. This would be great to see in person.
As I've stated in the past, there is no greater honor to me as a haunter, than to be featured here. The haunt was not what was intended, was nearly nothing at all, but personally, the most fulfilling of any I've done.
I am humbled and honored, Rot, thank you and Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
Thanks so much, each of you! Really, really appreciate the kind words. The lantern is an interesting story, I was asked by a friend to help admin a FB group that was created solely as a Pumpkinrot appreciation group...right around the time I was taking steps to get off of FB. The thought of it kind of renewed my interest in a community that I had become pretty disillusioned with. I agreed and what I try and bring to the group is a sense of appreciation for the craft, the art of it all and the passion it takes to commit to these yard haunts we love and obsess over. To be inspired, but to make it your own. That and I pester Rot way too much about motivations behind different props and builds, get to know the brilliance behind these amazing works.
One of the members of the group is actually from the UK and like myself, often shares sketches of ideas and such. One such sketch was of a Rotted Head Lantern, I believe he called it, it was very different from what I did with mine, but the sketch inspired me to challenge whomever wished to partake, in a group build of a lantern that went beyond the conventional. We had about a dozen come along for that journey I believe, I knew exactly what I wanted to try immediately...and overall I was pretty happy with the result. I've since challenged the group to take on a "winter build", whether it is Christmas related, or otherwise and I'm looking forward to seeing what the participants come up with.
I've probably bored you all and gone on too long, but I thought it was an interesting story. A bloke from across the pond, equally inspired by the organic based Halloween art of pumpkinrot, sharing ideas and inspiration. Good stuff.
Again, thank you, I appreciate your kind words and the endless inspiration routinely shared within this blog.

So many things to love here! I'm proud to call Steve a friend....even if he is a "Rotten" friend!

I love that skull in the third picture - it looks like it's halfway to a hornets' nest. And the detailing on everything is outstanding!

These are beautiful! I love the one that has the lantern incorporated into it. Really great work, Jeff!
