I can't think of a more terrifying means of execution. And it's totally bizarre, when you think of it. My only question, when pondering human nature, is why the victim wasn't forced to look up at the blade. Someone dropped the ball on this.
Love this! I have a full sized guillotine made to resemble the antique variety that I use in my yard on Halloween with the basket in front of it with a bloody head. I use it as part of a photo booth so everyone can get their pictures taken in it. The blade is heavy and slides down and stops right above where it would cut a head off. The yard is full of screamers and parents recording it. I've thought about retiring it because I's been used for about 8 years but the year I didn't put it out I had tons of complaints and people asking me where it was.

My family would all go apeshit if I tried to use a guillotine in my yard haunt.

ps - my best friend died last night and this is the first thing that made me smile and think of something else.
Now this is cool!!! Can you imagine it at night, with some subtle lighting?
I'm REALLY sorry to hear that, Jeannine. And now I'm super glad I put this post up.
That sucks, I'm very sorry to hear that.
