We had just recently watched Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow for the umpteenth time and I know the reference and context from the movie (e.g. the game Blind Man's Bluff), but your post piqued my curiosity as to the origin/history of the term/phrase. It's basically an old English term for a pointed piece of land. Knowing the movie, there's also a bit of "wych elm" tree folklore involved, but it also pulls in a real life discovery from 1943, "Who put Bella down the Wych Elm?" Burton weaved quite the tapestry of folklore and history into that movie. We just liked the movie for the visuals/cinematography. Who knew?

Very cool, Sleepy Hollow is one of my all-time favorites. Great photo also.
It would be nice if Burton could do a sequel based on Alyssa Palombo's book "The Spellbook of Katrina Van Tassel". It tells the story from Katrina's point of view including her investigations into the disappearance of Ichabod Crane and her background in the Wiccan culture.
Love the long sheets of creepy cloth. You must get it in bulk! Haha!
