My pumpkin lanterns look so bright because each one is packed with three or four tea lights and a votive. I use candles from DarkCandles.com. Candle scents of Clove, Coffin, Falling Leaves, and Haunted House create a pretty neat atmosphere. I also burn incense sticks jammed in the ground behind the bushes (well worth the risk of a Towering Inferno Halloween Incident).

I just ordered two candle packs from darkcandles.com. I got the graveyard and Halloween packs to start with... can't wait to try them out. I never really thought about using scents in my yard haunt, but I bet just doing that can add a lot to it, as long as it's not too windy!
