Wow, wow, wow…. What a lot of work! I hope you’re employing Rot Elves, or something. Exaggerated spines and elongated necks, if I could I’d do cartwheels over this! What a delight to have this to wake up to on this Halloween morning. Incredible presentation, boss…you’re the best!
I am simply blown away again this year. Love the theme and the atmosphere. I love to watch a master display his craft. Happy Halloween Rot. Thank you for keeping this holiday alive in my soul.
OMG - so very cool. In Picture 15, those ghouls look so alive. I love all the little details in this - the corpsing, spider webs, the cauldron, the lighting and your photography gets better every year. Happy Halloween! I hope the weather lends atmosphere instead of chaos.
Sorry for the language, but that is fucking awesome, I wouldn't have expected anything less from you. How in the world did you create the fire effect and the pot's interior? I am an amateur compared to what you're able to accomplish year after year. The aging and condition of the skeletons is better than what you see in a lot of horror movies, the headless one is a nice touch. Unreal as usual, you are THE best non professional home haunter in the country.
Oh man! So much goodness! I love it. I hope you've had a wonderful Halloween. I'm dorking out getting lots of photos. Sadly, we only got one group of tots. We did go the FM transmitter route and are on a map of displays that gets a bit of traffic. Oh, and it is the perfect night for fog. Happy happy Halloween.
How you manage to top yourself every year is a mystery to me, but it works perfectly. Bravo! The interplay of colors with the fog turned out sensationally well. The poses of the ghouls are so incredibly well done; they really seem to only hold the pose for a moment. And the green glow in the cauldron is so damn good.
I really hope your Halloween evening went well and was appreciated by the visitors. Your work simply stands out among all the blinking, robot-like animatronics out there. And I really, really appreciate that.
I used four flickering LED lights for under the cauldron and four strands of pulsating green light LEDs for the interior of the cauldron. The layer above them is made from those fake spiderwebs that I dipped in Elmers glue and water. I was surprised at how neat it looked because to me it looks like green lava. Thank you so much. I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Hey, the Ghouls! I loved these guys, happy to see them back again. Really great stuff, so much depth of texture this year especially. All the little cobweb bits are a nice touch. That corpse in the second picture is my favorite. How much of it is paper mache vs other materials like creepy cloth? Also, what was your ToT turnout like? :)
Seriously I’m so torn between which I love more: night shots or day shots. The green cauldron shot at day time is my absolute favorite. So beautiful. The amount of WORK that goes into this is insane. Well done, friend. Well done.
IMHO, The true test of a great display is that it looks amazing in both day and night settings. This absolutely does both. Yours is the only haunt I ever see online that I feel I can smell. Dead leaves, cornstalks, burnt pumpkin, fog. I love it man. Great haunt!
I'm just in awe: this came out SO good! Your work is always stunning, but I swear, you topped yourself this year. One of my favorite things about what you do is how scary it looks during the day! That is hard to achieve, but with your setup it looks so easy and natural. Thank you so much: as I've stated before, you inspire me, and always seem to capture not just the look but the very ESSENCE of Halloween! I'm already prepping for next year, and will be referencing these pics in the months to come! Not to copy you, btw; just to do better and better with my own haunt and props.
Absolute PERFECTION! Seeing your gorgeous display is always the greatest Halloween treat. It's absolutely mind-blowing this year. So expansive and intriguing! With so many layers and so much depth!! You are incredibly skilled at BOTH the tiniest details (e.g., spine bones, tattered cloth, hanging gourds, cobwebs) AND also at the overall/bigger experience (e.g., how everything visually unfolds within the world you created). And how in the world did you get your fog to behave in that autumn wind? You are a WIZARD, Rot. Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween! Your haunt looks great... as usual. Great ghouls and lighting. That's a lot of leaves.😆

I love having this to look forward to as part of my annual Halloween morning ritual, and I'm sure I'm far from alone!
The Ghouls looks amazing...the new poses, the hands, the spines!
And everything comprising the approach is so grim and intense; it's fantastic.
Any ToT that actually makes it to the door probably deserves a Halloween merit badge to go with their candy.

Thanks a ton!! And happy Dia De Los Muertos!
I started with an extremely cheap plastic skeleton. I cut it apart and reassembled it so it had better proportions. I used an old resin skull for the top and a plastic jaw from an old model skull. Everything else is papier-mâché.
Dang...the lighting at night with the silhouettes of the ghouls is so amazing!

Thanks SOOO much!

Happy Halloween, Rot! What an amazing Haunt this year. From the ghouls’ hands to the green lava chowder. I’d have a bowl it! 🤣
