Rot: I've been toying with the concept of ice and snow as a theme for a couple years. Something leaning toward the arctic/abominable snow monsters, but recently someone was putting together a "Hell freezes over" theme and that has so much potential as well.
I used to make huge Christmas scenes for my holiday parties and cover most of the room with rolls of cotton and hang star lights from the ceiling with fake reindeer standing in the middle of it all. Fake snow outside might be a bit more difficult, but inside it's totally doable and really neat.

While snow is hard on the props, it takes a haunt to another level. It moves it past Halloween to another time, which makes it creepier.
Well put. I totally agree.
never even considered snow at halloween! (live in Virginia) this is beautiful--very atmospheric and surreal..
I'm in Virginia as well. I don't think we've ever had snow on Halloween, so it's pretty nifty to see it in other haunts. Great photos!
Thanks, Rot!
It always warms our hearts to know that what we do is appreciated... snow and all. :)
Love, love, love that you posted the photo of 'Virgil' presiding over his minions... Psst... this one's for you! ;)
.. looks like ash from a thousand burned corpses!
Nice.
the snow probably made the color of lights pop out even more. Nice!
The concept of fake snow in a display is pretty interesting now. : )
