He looks awesome!! Love the idea from your earlier post about putting him in the corner of your yard across from the bus stop. Pure awesomeness!

There could be a few kids not wanting to take the bus these days.

Rot, how do you reconcile the potential 'diappearance' of your scarecrow? It's bad enough for me when a pumpkin is stolen. For something you've put work into thats really cool and may be slightly too tempting to be left untouched by cool but morally corrupt admirers, what do you do?

Back when I decorated my folks' house, I could never leave anything out. My Haunt is a one-night event, mostly due to the fact that I don't have the nerves for worrying about props for an entire month. Knowing that some kids could come along and smash or steal something is an ugly reality. Where we're at now is pretty nice. Very quiet neighborhood, but I'll still wake up every morning wondering if I'm going to find an empty scarecrow post. Or a smashed pumpkin head.

Last year when I displayed my SEEDS scarecrow for the month of October, I had him wired really well to the metal post-holder. That would have taken some effort to remove and I'm hoping that would deter kids from trying once they felt the resistance.

I'll do the same this year.
