I have listened to the score thoughout the year at work..puts me in a good mood.
Yours and Mr.Glasset's talents put together make great mind candy.

Yup.
Probably within 20 minutes of that photo being taken.
It was definitely an interesting project, having never officially "scored" this kind of thing before. Your annual haunt videos tell a story through montage. Since the props don't (usually) move around, in a sense there's only one "scene" to score--the camera just moves around in that one scene. The music can just simmer and occasionally bubble up when it needs to.
As a short film, Swamp Foetus definitely needed a different approach. It felt like the music had to evolve with the plot. It was really cool trying to map out and follow the story with music. Collaborating on that was really fun. We had to talk about where things should be emphasized or allowed to stand on their own. Just like grownup filmmakers and musicians do it. :)
And, I have to say: if your readers only knew how much you and your wife labored and agonized over this thing. That was something else I learned during this project. I've always believed a lot of work went into your designs but working as closely as we did on this made me realize how labor-intensive it really is. Especially when you go from setting up static displays to using characters that move through multiple scenes. You have to really, really love it to make it this good.

If I ever have the opportunity to produce a full length hallowe'en feature, you're the first person I'm calling for theme & set design. :)
Who said you need an excuse to repost this marvellous film? Still just as good as the first time I saw it!
Honestly, "Swamp Memories" has become a Silent Film Classic for me..
& like Most Classics (Masterpieces), Love is Always the Thread... :)
