&..OMG...the villian is being played by: Benedict Cumberbatch of the "BBC Sherlock" fame....hmmm...& he was also just in the "Big Screen" remake of the 1970's BBC Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy mini series..he is such a Brilliant Actor..&..kinda Dreamy too.. : D
have you guys caught--the BBC Sherlock?..if you haven't, i think might Love it...
& i gotta say...i think Zachary Quinto has done a Fine job of filling the young Spock's ears...i was kinda Nervous before i actually saw him in action...& it's Not just with Spock's physical traits but it seems he has Actually caught the true Essence of Spock as well..
Really liked Abram's first take on Trek. This one looks interesting. And while everyone involved in the production flat out denies Cumberbatch is playing Khan, there are definitely shades happening here.
The movie will probably be damn skippy awesome. But the marketing isn't sitting right with me. It feels like the marketing team as straight up lifted the playbook from the Dark Knight Rises marketing. The poster stylings are practically the same ( http://www.theatlanticwire.com/entertainment/2012/12/new-star-trek-poster-ripping-dark-knight-rises/59557/ ); supposedly there's a nine minute preview attached to The Hobbit (DKR had a 9min preview too); and this teaser trailer felt so damn close beat for beat with the DKR trailer that I was waiting for for Cumberbatch to say "When the Federation is in ashes you have my permission to die Captain Kirk.".
Terrormaster...You totally cracked me up with the Bane quote...Good One!!!... :D
& Yes, why Can't Star Trek JUST be Star Trek...i hear ya... Abram's did an Awesome job too with the First one... :)
AND...but of course---there's a 9min preview of "The Hobbit" attached---cause, Bilbo is played by: Martin Freeman "aka Watson" of the "BBC Sherlock"...Cumberbatch & Freeman (Sherlock & Watson) together Again---Well sorta.. :D Crazzzy huh...
Doesn't seem like much of a departure from the first movie. I was hoping for something with a salt-vampire or shore-leave/be careful what you wish for-planet or arena combat or something, but I guess it's hard to fill up a 3-hour movie with something so old-school.
Yeah. I've been believing the camp of folks who have been saying it was Mitchell...and the blond in this was proof to me, but I just don't know any more. The fans are all over the place. Some theories are absolutely insane.

That looks good, can't wait! I like how the whole trek universe timeline was rewritten in the last movie.

I'm kinda anti-blockbuster these days. Hollywood thinks we want these massive films with giant special effects and enormous threats.
That said, I really dug the first one and am looking forward to seeing the follow-up.
No Khan, I believe. Think Gary Lockwood and Sally Kellerman from TOS ep. "Where No Man Has Gone Before" and watch it again...

Yes, the Sybok one really gets me. HA!!! (watch it be true...)
