i think you've Perfectly created the vision, Amando de Ossorio had in mind when he dreamt of bringing the ghosts of his (Evil) Knights Templar to Life, in "tombs of the blind dead"... wow..just WOW!!!...
& OH MY GODDESSSS Bean!!!... your polaroids Perfectly trapped the spirit of this Otherworldly creature... you're.....a spider spinning a web with your camera... : D
You & rot are the Most perfect Bookends Evvvverrrrrr....
P.S... something about this Beauty, vibes on the "headless horseman" for me as well as the ghosts scene in John Carpenter's "the fog"...
Back in 2007 I built a small tribute to the Blind Dead...LOVE those knights. http://pumpkinrot.com/images/2007_13.jpg (the one on the right) Looks silly to me now though : D
And Willow Cove...great reference since I do believe that has never left my mind since I first saw it..the dead kneeling knight from Excalibur. Wow.
dude... there is Nothing silly about your earlier version of the blind dead...
heyyyyy... do you remember, in "tombs of the blind dead", towards the end of the movie, the scene that takes place in the train car... dead center even, NOT disguised... you can see a painted, silver oven mitt...Yep!! aaaahhaahhahahh!!!!... Hilarious & Very True...
i can't find a pic on online... so, i'll capture a still from the movie later & link it on here....
Yeah, I remember a post you made way back about some sketches of yours of unmade props/themes. You had a sketch of the tree with hanging knights.....things like that stick with me.
1) Amazing, as always! 2) Amazing photos by Bean, as always! and because my mind works this way (with apologies beforehand) 3) Does he want a shrubbery?
Truly amazing work--I LOVE this! I'm really into medieval history so this is going to the top of my 'most favorite creations by Rot' list. He is perfectly creepy--STUNNING!
OMG TOO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant work! I love his robe, his helmet, his height! It's really cool to see your skills used to create something in this medieval style; you clearly have great range! Perfect "set" for a photo too (with the bridge)...all the shots are incredible!!! :D
That bridge is in a local sculpture park. A really weak one. But the bridge thing was perfect for this. I was hoping for a snow shoot, but not sure if we'll get another snow storm any time soon.
Loving the shadowed, skeletal face - something so unmistakably ancient about it. Great posture too. If I didn't know any better, I'd think it was a (very, very tall) guy in a suit.
So, I get busy and let all my blog reading fall WAY behind and look what I almost miss! Pure genius. Reminds me of a cross between Charon and the knight I would expect to meet guarding the Holy Grail. Nice!
I always wondered what a Headless Hessian run amuck, Rot Style...might look like, this might be a hint of that. Very, very cool pose, the tilt of the head, the stoic majesty of the stance...the hands...those hands.

I tried to make the hand look like it was layered with old chainmail.

Ni!
Wow Rot! Beautiful work! There's something really creepy about the over head shot at his back.. He's seriously spooky. Awesome!
Every time I dare to think, "I don't know if he can top that." BAM...topped.
I doff my chapeau.
Just splendid, Rot. You are one of few who can really nail a pose, and the details on this guy are excellent. A really beautiful piece.
Is this the first Bean post of 2013? I think it is ;)
Well done guys.
Wow! Mr. Chicken said it, nobody gets the pose to be as natural as you do. Kudos sir
Wow! He is fantastic! Now his horse is the next sculpt, right? Might he have something to do with your 2013 haunt theme?
Thanks : )
As much as I've been toying with having this be a theme this year, I just don't like doing symmetrical pieces. Too orderly.
Badass. You should make an army of them like in Jason and the Argonauts
By far one of the coolest damn things I have seen you make! Bravo!
Thanks, guys!
WOW! I made a knight of armor when i was 10 for a class project but it was definitely not this cool :)
Ok dude..
we grabbed the "silver oven mitt"
clip off of our "tombs of the blind dead" dvd...
aahahhhahahahaaaaaaaaa!!!!...
here ya go...

Fan friggin tastic!! hehe :)
ALRIGHT DANG IT! A coffee table book of your creations, as photographed by Bean, MUST HAPPEN!!!!!
Incredible work, as always.

How in the blue hell did I miss THIS???
That is beyond cool bro...

Jesus H Christ...that tops my list of the coolest things I have ever seen.
Thanks! : D
You guys gotta do another shoot in the fall, with some leaves floating through the air!
That thing is unreal. Please tell me he lives in the house.
He's resting in the basement.
We were actually planning on taking him back out in the autumn.
OUTSTANDING! There is no end to your talent! :)
