Managed to sneak into the New Zealand Premiere with my mum (mom?). It was absolutely incredible. Infact, I'd go as far to say that I liked it more than the original - and that's saying something. Maybe repeat viewings will change that.
It's a film that'll probably divide a lot of fans. It lacks the low-budget campy charm of the original, but trying to replicate that in a modern Hollywood picture would be pointless. It's slicker and certainly darker, and, in my opinion, it made a lot more sense than the original.

Wow, some REALLY cool ones; The Exorcist,The Thing, Pan's Labyrinth, Nosferatu. I want!
These are GREAT.
And I've been meaning to ask - have you checked out Fede Alvarez's Evil Dead yet? If so, what did you think?
We decided to wait until it's on demand.
Did you enjoy it?
I saw it....really great. LOTS of blood and Gorey goo. Highly recommend it.
Absolutely loved it.
