Ha! If I wanted to get on my mom's nerves, I would call her "mother".
She hated that.

yeah, chicks DON"T like being called Mother for some reason...,it's like putting a bullet thru a Major Organ.
i've called my mom, Mary, for since like forevvvvvvvvvvvvver.
she's Good, like that.
for the most part i too refer to my mother by her first name. just always seemed natural.
The 18 wheeler test: If a truck was heading for your mom, and she had her back to it and you needed to call to her to let her know she needed to jump out of the way, what would you call her? Those of us who call our parents by their first name would have a higher success rate.

i think my mom would be toast either way with that test. Her hearing is horrendous.

though truthfully, i think the kid in me would yell "MOM!!! RUN!!"
and she'd be looking around for someone's mom thinking "I hope dat b!tch runs"
cause that's how my mom talks you see.

I have called my mom by her first name for years. But now that she is getting older and very hard of hearing, I seem to be calling her mom more and more. Maybe because it's easier to say. Dunno.
Lol i thought MY mom was the only one who talked like that! lol. ;) oh, I mean Alice. Alice talks that way. Not! What the heck guys? Calling your moms by their first name?? Lol weird!!! I heart my mom. I only say Alice when we are at amusement parks or places with Crazy amounts of kids. But instinctually, I still say mom first.
Hope there are no semi trucks in our future!

very scary stuff--guess I'm lucky as ma and me have always had a lot of fun together. as a young child, she would always stay up late with me on Friday nites to watch the horror flicks. I count myself lucky.
