Always loved reading Smaug's scenes as a kid - the best part wasn't the big dragon destroying things, it was him having a verbal battle of wits with Bilbo. Smaug is a wickedly intelligent, manipulative wyrm who oozes cool and class, like Sher Khan or Hannibal Lecter. Dragons don't often get to be actual characters in the movies, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they portray him.

& i think Cumberbatch is a Wonderful choice as His voice. :)
I detest the way this man says Smaug....

i feel badly admitting that.
It didn't look quite as awful as I had imagined. I mean once my eyes have been raped with the Dr. Seuss menu, things can only get better right?
I hate to break it to you Rot, but that is the correct pronunciation of Smaug :P (although I'm sure I'm not the only one who grew up calling him "Smog.")
