The Muppet Show also has a version of that, I think.
I remember being kind of creeped out by that song as a little kid, which we had to sing in music class in like 2nd grade. I was disturbed by the suffocation song, too, but at least that was fun in a subversive sort of way.
I recall loving this song as a kid. It was an anticipation song...where you just keep going through the verses waiting for that child-heaven part about the horse.... like the 12 days of christmas without the yuletide joy.
Though, according to the cartoon, I suspect that whacko ate the fly on purpose. And liked it.
hahahahaha..the grapes have eyes, the dog reminds me of "precious pup" & for some strange reason, toward the very end, i started thinking of "kill bill".
Burl Ives & that creamy, dreamy voice of his..<3333333333333333

UGH. I'm going to go and slam a door on my head a few times now.

Burle was one voluptuous man.
I knew an old lady who choked to death on a horse and here's the song I wrote about it.
