My old bud Rob of the late SkullandBone Haunt once told me that faux spider webbing was the great untapped resource of Yard Haunting (homeless people are another untapped resource).
Using it effectively is an art form.
Love it in the photo below.

I have never really tried to use spider web. Never really had a theme to use it on, or I never took time to incorporate into the haunt.
Totally agree about using the homeless people. Maybe I'll go into town and bribe some with sandwiches.
Yeah, need to do more webs in haunt.
I miss SkullandBone....
I love doing them on a small scale - over dead flowers, over books - things like that. Doing them large scale...that's harder. :(
Love using spider webs!! I agree with Bean though, the larger the area the harder it gets. My Husband gets a kick out of how much time I spend perfecting our webs. =) *Pull this side down a little more and spread it out.....now walk across the street to see how it looks from further away. Ok...now that side needs to be spread out a little bit* Yeah....the OCD part of me definitely comes out.
Love the webs! I have a very small tractor we use in the pumpkin patch and every Halloween sits the life-size skelly in the seat with a straw hat...covered with spider webs.
Did your buddy also tell you they are a major pain in the ass to use? LOL, half kidding.
No matter how steady and gentle a hand, no matter how much wishing that my webs look natural, they never do. Ever. Now I have kids and it's like they get a hold of a bag and it's a chunk here and a chunk there. On the flipside now I have kids and like, I don't have time to sweep the porch and there's REAL webs giving ambiance all year long now! :)
No. I'm not bitter.
haha
we've TRIED. and we feel the same way. They're AWFUL to use. I swear to you we're going to try it again.
Real webs are superior : D
Ohhhhh yesssss..ROMANTIC!!!
Beauty of a pic too.
I use these on my entryway, along with Martha Stewart's egg sacs (which need to be remade since a puppy took them out of their storage box and executed them!). They creep everyone out quite nicely!
And in response to Willow Cove: We ALL miss Skull and Bone!
