I see all these insanely cool record releases yet I know no one who currently has a record player.
I think I want one now. It'd be wonderful to play The Shining soundtrack on it with all the windows open on a cool Autumn night.

Hell I'd buy it just for the artwork.
I remember having a turntable. It was hooked up to my dad's Martanz tube driven receiver. So much power came out of that thing, you could feel the crackle of the needle and record drilling inside your head.
Probably one of the reasons why I now have ring in the ears.

my dad had tons of big band albums. Christmas time was great..Duke Ellington Christmas albums...Frank Sinatra singing jazzy xmas tunes.
it's kinda cool that they had to be handled with great care..unlike everything now that's made to withstand multiple drops on the ground.

In honor of still having a turn table, I will put on my EP of Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart. Oooops! It plays on 45 - no wonder it sounded kinda slow!
i got one. and have just been recently bit with the vinyl bug. Tons of great halloween stuff out there. Just bought Disney's Haunted House tonite actually
I own two, if you do pick one up, I'd recommend either a Audio-Technica or Crosley (especially since Crosley makes some really classy vintage style players)

I have a turntable, fairly new, bought about two years ago, Audio-Technica. The only reason I have it is because I have a P.D.Q. Bach set and some big band on vinyl. On the whole I much prefer CD for storage and handling considerations. Not much of an MP3 guy except to burn 'em to CD.
I've been collecting horror soundtracks lately and scored the beautiful "candy corn splatter" vinyl version of this release (didn't get the picture discs in the photo). 2 records in this one. The first is the soundtrack from the film, the second is a collection of scary sounds, like the classic Halloween sound effect records of the 60s and 70s. I can't wait to put this on my turntable!! (Yes, my turntable!!)
