cause THAT Man!!!!! Omgggggg...so FULL of magic he IS. how about the movies he did with Richard Pryor...AHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!...Gold. i keep telling myself that's he's not really gone. i keep telling myself that all that beautiful magic of his is scattered across the universe now. it's STILL out there, keepin us all warm!!!. : ) <3
This year has been a brutal one for all of our legends. Bowie, Prince, Glen Frey, Ali...the list is way too long. These were people who didn't just entertain me...they helped form who I am.
Wilder is one of my all time favorite comedians. Heck, I'd love him just for Young Frankenstein alone, but you add in Blazing Saddles, Silver Streak, Stir Crazy, The Woman in Red, Willie Wonka, etc...he has an incredible body of work!
I must've missed this post earlier. This one hit home. Willy Wonka. I just. I can't even. So very, very, sad about his passing. So very happy his suffering is over. Alzheimer's is a horrid, evil illness. May he rest in peace.
Very sad. Beautiful to see the outpouring of love and appreciation, I'd be hard pressed to name an actor I enjoyed more. I've always maintained despite anything else that came along, Wonka was my very favorite film from my childhood. Coming from someone who might eat candy once a year...but the magic and heart and humor of that film will stick with me forever. Still call my 22 yr old daughter Veruca when her sass is a little geared up.
