I remember hearing about this throughout my youth. Like an urban ghost story to make kids more responsive and concerned about helping others in trouble. But it also always felt like a scathing indictment of how awful people truly are...or can be.
Started watching this late last night... it's amazing.

Dreadful story.
this reminded me of an old movie i caught on tv once, with Ginger, from Gilligan's Island. yeah man, Tina Louise was in it, so it musta been a made for tv movie? anyways, i don't know, if it's the same story or not...but man, blows my mind.
i'll tell you what..AIN'T gonna happen on my (our) watch. Carl & i are active in our town watch & always help out people who need help. Thank GOD the help we have given hasn't been as intense as the subject matter in this doc, but we have NO problem with jumpin in & helping people out. we have walked people, especially women, (at night) to many a destination that they were having trouble finding.
so whatever. i don't know how some people live with their themselves. especially, the mealy-mouthed. stand the FUCK UP & DO Something or Shut it.
Yeah, that's just crazy. And who knows how many times a violent crime happens that people have seen and never said anything.
I'm ALWAYS paying attention to my surroundings. My wife says I'm paranoid.
JS- not paranoid, you are aware of your surroundings and that is good and healthy. Especially if your family is with you. That's just your instinct kicking in. Or as I call it, my Spidey senses!
Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you!:D
I just watched this documentary and it's very well done. All I can say is don't draw any conclusions until you've seen it.
