Not sure what this technique is called, but I've always loved it on primitive folk art.

It'd be cool to make a full size version and set it outside for a couple of seasons on a scarecrow. Instead of polyester as stuffing- hay. In the nylons.

Basically this is 'soft sculpture'. Fabric is amazing for sculpting because you can form compound curves (three dimensional). If ever you get a spare minute, google Annemieke Mein. Fabric is her medium. She goes waaaay beyond shirts. The witches are adorable! They almost look oven-baked.
