Or, rather, staked vampires...as they're already dead I suppose.
Was looking at these old (somewhat chill-inducing/cheesy) photos and realized that you don't really see many dead vampires in yard haunts. It'd be fun to see a line of upright coffins with a staked, skeletal vampire in each.
A VERY long time ago, I had sketched and planned to do a "Vampire at Dawn" prop photo shoot where a vampire like the one kneeling below (but with loads more flesh on it) was on a hill at sunrise, surrounded by a circle of crosses and crucifixes. And chained to the ground like a dog wearing a heavy chained collar. His hand was raised blocking his face from the morning sun. Futile, of course. As his entire body would be emitting loads of smoke (from loads of hidden smoke bombs dropped into body cavities that were built for that purpose).
The photo shoot that never was.

I think the pose in the last photo would be excellent, how far you have progressed in your prop making skills (as in detail), the vampire prop you create would be awesome.
Get busy......... :D
that photoshoot sounds ICONIC.
Ah, right up my ally. I started out yard haunting focused on pirates. But they need SO many accessories! Swords, pistols, hooks, cannons, etc. Vampires need less to tell a story: stakes, garlic, sunlight ;)
And, I always wanted to explore a vampires of the world theme. African or Asian vampires, or a collection of reliquaries from a hunter...
That'd be cool to see...
That is a fabulous photo shoot idea! Good grief, yes!
...the agony of the sun.....
The staked vamp has always been one of my favorite props of yours. Always glad to see him. You talked before about dream haunt themes, mine has always been Van Helsing's home, door being the focal point with crucifixes and garlic and a low singular porch light. A simple sign “Van Helsing” and unclothed Barlow type vampires crawling, climbing, lurking 360 degrees towards the door. After the trick or treaters receive their candy, they turn to see 25 sets of burning eyes of rage all positioned to descend on them. One day, one day. And your photo shoot sounds legit. Cheers.
That's a pretty chilling idea you had there..with that vampy chained up like a dog & waiting for his demise. Brrrrrrr. even, made me feel kinda sad for him for some strange reason. & your description of the vamp going up in smoke made me think of the ending of "Thirty Days of Night"..when Eben & Stella watch their last sunrise together as Eben disintegrate into the suns rays. one of the most beautiful & saddest scenes ever.
witches & vampires!!!!!
maybe..you'll revisit your vampy years some future Halloween. : )
Loved that scene...and movie.
me too man. underrated film i think.
