This brings back memories. Seeing my dad and uncles buying the “GOOD” fireworks out of some guys car trunk, then shooting them off at night.

awwww..i had no idea this existed. always so strange & wonderful when you find out about something that is both mysterious to you & actually an established classic at the same time. that guy is def King of Americana. his storytelling got me thinking of Ray Bradbury's stories..when Ray writes about his summer adventures as a kid.

the 4th has come & gone. we're supposed to get a slight break in this HORRIBLE steamy weather. hopefully we can hang on until October or the arrival of some cooler crisp Fall air. whichever happens first..i'm ALL there!!!

Woke up to the post-putrid sulfur fog this am. Last night was like being in a war zone. The whole valley was popping. Glad you guys are getting a reprieve from the sauna. I guess it's our turn....supposed to be 110 tomorrow. Can't wait.

Autumleaf last night was nuuuuts. Like almost as crazy as it gets. People shot off illegal fireworks in a park we were at and it fell on its’ side, and shot straight at us! Missed but hit somebody’s car. Nutso.

Thanks Autumnleaf..philly IS getting a small reprieve. this will be the end of heatwave #2. last yr i think we had either 6 or 7 heatwaves..not sure. i saw on the news that Dante & his traveling Inferno are Cali bound..looks like a streak of HELLISH temps for you guys..the triples. ughhhh. i just keep thinking of all the October Beauty on it's way. Stay cool Lady & try not to let the heat rob you of things you like to do. Oh & on a totally fun note..watch "Rear Window" if you can. not only is it a GREAT flick, but, it takes place during a heatwave in NYC. hahaha. Good Stuff!!

I will watch for Rear Window girl6! Thanks!! We are on the down side of the ugly heat wave, but still hot. Trees took a hit. Critters are ok..not too happy though. I can't WAIT to see the water/electric bill after this one. I had to travel to Ontario (Cali) on the worse day (Friday) and temps read 121F. Is there a 'perpetual fall' land somewhere?
