that bookstore window capture IS amazing!!! omg..the decorations. i dig the look of the actress chosen for Sabrina. she's got a super cute little face..like a baby Elizabeth Shue. she'll be perfect. yeah man..Riverdale is doing super well so they wanna cash in with spinoffs. & Netflix lends for a darker vision..could be really neat. which also means..Josie & the Pussycats might also have a chance of popping up with their own show somewhere along the way. i could definitely go for a grungier version of those girlies.
Yeah that looked awesome. Kinda reminded me of the Witch, with some of its imagery. Loved its creep factor. And I liked Sabrina the teenage witch as a kid, so this hits the nostalgia/ remake notes for me. I also really liked that actress as Sally in Madmen.
The comic this is based upon is really fantastic, giving the Sabrina character a much darker background than she has been traditionally depicted. I personally am rather old, so I remember Sabrina showing up in the Archie comic and cartoon...and it was a very light-hearted affair. While I never watched the 90's show, my understanding is the tone there was also lighter. The Chilling Adventures comic totally subverts that, and it looks like the show will as well.
The comic is set in the 1960's, and has a very Hammer_Horror-Meets-Rosemary's-Baby vibe. I'm curious to see if they plan to keep the 60's setting, or move it forward to modern day so that they could potentially crossover with Riverdale at some point. It's hard to tell from the trailer, as it could possibly go either way. It looks fantastic, regardless.
I am so excited for this! I lived for Sabrina as a 90's girl, and still do! I had one of the writers of the show as a professor in college, and later met Nate Richt, who played Harvey, and become buds with him in improv classes in LA - so I guess I'm biased and love the old series no matter what. That being said, this is a totally different show - really excited about the atmosphere and feel of it, very much like The Witch (my favorite)!
OMG..i LOVED the original Sabrina..her aunts Hilda & Zelda were my faves. & i had sucha huge crush on Harvey!!! that show went thru so many changes (different networks even) & i was SO happy when Sabrina & Harvey finally ran off together. man..those were the days of TGIF on ABC. i adored that lineup..even tho it's what kinda ended up sinking "2 guys a girl & a pizza place" starring ryan reynolds. gahhhh..so gorgeous & sarcastic. he was ALWAYS Wade Wilson, even back then. hahaha.
but yeah..the NEW suspiria is looking SO killer with it's new visionary behind the lens & i'm thinking the same with this darker vision of sabrina.
Vintage Seance..proof that dreams come true. BEST story. <333

Ooh almost anything relating to witches has my attention 😃 totally excited to see this series! Especially if it's of the darker nature 😂
