Agreed. Serious Halloween 2 vibes. But I like the direction. Not gonna lie, I dont like the immortal MM. I mean how does he go from pyschopathic kid, to serial killer in his 20’s, to an immortal being by Halloween 2? Never made sense to me. I like the idea of just exploring the darker side of humanity. Hope he isnt impossible to kill in this movie. Probably will be though.
i loved the idea of an immortal myers. The notion of REAL monsters on this earth living with us and only a handful of people ever have the dark "honor" of experiencing it excites me.
I find this film odd in the sense that it erases everything after the first HALLOWEEN, but laurie acts like someone who has LIVED through HALLOWEEN II, as she witnessed his true immortality.
Omgggg it's...WES CRAVEN'S HALLOWEEN. you got jamie lee channeling laurie strode channeling nancy thompson!!! get it my girl & bring it on home just like nancy's mom did..."He's dead now. He's dead because Mommy killed him. I even took his knives. it's ok..you can sleep now."
Good point, though. In the original movie he only kills 5 people, including his sister. That's impressive for one night, but it seems like after Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer that Michael Myers would be all but forgotten by now, that Laurie Strode would have gotten back to living her life like countless other crime victims do. Think about it, after the first movies iconic ending were told by this movie that after getting shot six times and dropped two stories to the ground that Myers got up, walked off and then...was promptly arrested and thrown back into the clink for 40 odd years. Some bogeyman. That's why I'm giving this a pass. It's just a reboot of a sequel and another cash grab. It won't be a terrible movie, just unnecessary.
What I think would be fun though would be an Identification Discovery mock show detailing the Haddonfield Halloween massacre and the masked killer who was never found.
dag man. throwing loomis under the bus. hahaha..: ) i don't think loomis is a loonie. he dedicated a lot of his life trying to help someone that was beyond repair. was michael myers more human than a human?..maybe rob zombie knows something about that? is the sam loomis in the halloween universe the same sam loomis from hitchcock's psycho universe? was sam loomis so destroyed by the murder of his love..marion davis at the hands of the obviously deranged norman bates (son of norma bates) that he vowed to help other children suffering with mental health issues (by becoming a psychiatrist) & possibly save them from growing up into psychotic killers like norman bates did? personally..i don't really think that was JC's plan or ultimate homage to psycho/hitchcock. i subscribe more to the theory of JC's ultimate homage to psycho/hitchcock being the casting of jamie lee curtis (daughter of janet leigh aka marion crane) as our badass heroine in Halloween.
and i believe the scene (in the new halloween reboot) when laurie strode is staring up at michael myers thru a window (before she shoots & he disappears into thin air) is another/NEW homage to hitchcock's psycho. in a way..jamie lee is getting a chance to avenge her mom's (janet leigh..marion crane's) murder. i really believe that is a psycho/hitchcock homage of sorts..packed with soooo many shoutouts!!!

Awwwwwwwwww WES!!! Gone but NEVER forgotten.<333
I still disregard everything after the original, which might be the greatest conclusion to a horror movie ever.
The Thai trailer has lots of amazing stuff too:

Yeah...and making him more human...what exactly does that make of Loomis?
Just some raving incorrect lunatic I guess.
JLC is such a badass!! It'll be fun to watch her hunt Mike down.
