I have been obsessed with that scarecrow, from the first time I saw it.
Definitely the coolest scarecrow that has ever appeared in any film or television show.
Ever.
The battle scenes remind me of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Wonderful!
I love this film so much, was lucky to see it a few times in the theatre when it was released. The visuals and mood perfectly capture the feeling of dreary damp grey old late fall/winter New England. If November has a mood (for me, at least), this film is it.
I found the sets in this film to be like food.
Definitely my favorite Johnny Depp film, and my second favorite Tim Burton film of all time. I actually grew up in the same city he did, Burbank,CA. Must be something in the water.
That Scarecrow is why I started building props. Then, years later I came across some guy named Pumpkinrot....
