I just became painfully aware that Christmas is only two weeks away. And I'm still just not feeling it. A favorite watering hole closed last year and that totally would have helped with the Christmas Spirit (with spirits)...
I was lucky enough to have drinks there on its final night on the earth.

So sad that your local closed its doors. The drink menu looks mouthwatering. I just finished the 13 days of Creepmas but the Christmas spirits me alludes me. I am still in dark mode. Pulling Creepmas decor down today and it will be replaced with Christmas. Bah Humbug.
I stopped in to check out the new bar that took its place and it made things worse. I sat at the bar and ordered a Guinness... like a spy secretly surveying the new atmosphere.
And ALL of the charm was completely gone. Pretty lame.
Mr. Haunted Eve here... One of the restaurants we would often go to for a New Year's Eve dinner was the Bonefish Grill (its a seafood restaurant chain, and we had one located at a large shopping mall near us). We assume that location closed due to the lack of consumers going to the mall during the height of the pandemic. Bonefish Grill would have a drink at this time of year called the "Winter White" cosmopolitan made with vodka, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, white cranberry juice, a dash of lime juice, and simple syrup. Loved that drink! Miss that drink!
that sounds AMAZING. We have those around here as well. have never eaten in one, but now i am intrigued.
I've been attending some events here in Houston in my Krampus cosplay, but other than that I haven't been much in the spirit either. Of course, the vast majority of December it's been 70-80 degrees! Kinda hard to feel much Yuletide joy when you're sweating and wearing shorts!
NOOOOOOOOOO :( My mom lives near the area, and we had dinner at the Blue Comet before seeing the B-52s a few years ago. Pouring one out tonight for all the cool joints that closed over the last 2 years.
That stinks that they closed.
We have bonefish down here and love it. Really good food.
Sorry to hear -- it sucks losing a beloved hangout. It looked cozy and the drinks sound great.
Beautiful photos! They totally capture the charm of the place, and your love for it. I’m sorry it closed down. I’m not really a fan of Gin, but I would have tried “The Krampus”, just for the clove.
The drinks were always so perfectly made that you could never place the ingredients, so I was surprised to even see gin in the description. The clove was really prominent too.
Dang, this looked like a neat place. All the local places that leave town like this always hits the holiday spirits.
I love gin, wish I could’ve visited this place sometime in my life. Beautiful pics Rot . Super charming.
Yeah, it was pretty special. And there was a fire pit out back in a very small courtyard.
