Your collaboration that year was amazing and inspirational. In fact hehe, I never got a chance to share with you the vid of my haunt from 2020. I took some inspiration from you when making my King. Hope you don't mind me sharing the link here. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qeMK3Oog2WQ
Thanks, guys! I absolutely positively know that the TOTs didn't get it. I don't think they understood it nor found any appeal in the subject matter at all. haha. But that was definitely the year more adults lingered and asked questions. So that was really neat, and a lot of fun talking to them with Theo.
Scott, my thoughts were kind of abstract and vague. I was inspired by the abandoned church in the film PUMPKINHEAD and knew I had to have a cross cut-out. And I just kept seeing an old church in some swamp or wooded area...very secluded...where someone felt they were being reverent to their beliefs, but were doing so with human remains. And, oddly, it didn't seem to offend anyone, which was a huge relief. As I was absolutely not mocking nor feeling like I was being sacrilegious. And the church incense we were burning really seemed to bring back memories for the adults who were lingering. They loved it and were all smiles the entire time. One neighbor told me it reminded him of being an altar boy. So I'll take that as a success.
I messaged Theo a while back asking why he hasn't updated his blog since posting about his wonderful experience collaborating with you on the CHURCH display. Like many of us sometimes life just gets in the way, especially when your young. I really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes photos and narratives he posted about the process. Good Times...
Thanks for the reply and appreciated your honesty. If there’s beauty in a haunt display, you nailed it. My humble opinion is this is the best work you’ve ever done. I didn’t believe you were mocking religion or Catholics but I just had to ask. Thanks Rot!

One of your most unnerving and haunting displays. Curious what were your thoughts on the subject matter?
Words cannot describe how amazing this haunt is.....
This was such a unique haunt. I wonder if the TOTs got it.

"I was absolutely not mocking nor feeling like I was being sacrilegious" - bummer. Mocking mainstream religion is a favorite pastime of mine.
