Currently 62 degrees. Windows open with some clove incense sticks out in the garden. And Harold Budd playing in the background. If I didn't know better, I'd think it were Autumn.

Rot - I'm so envious. First the garden is looking amazing, I gave up on mine as we haven't had any rain in almost 2 months and second our low temperature last night was 80.
I agree - it is starting to smell like autumn here in Colorado.
SGC, same here. Very little rain has fallen, and my grass is mostly dead as a result. Been watering the garden a lot.
That's awesome Rot! I too am envious... I'm in Texas where the low is 80 and the high is 103 along with horrendous humidity. It's as close to hell I can think of. Hopefully the weather will cool down, but here that's a pipe dream.
Rot, your garden is a Halloween Eden! I've always loved black-eyed susans. We are in the same western boat as others. No rain, more rationing, dead lawns. But...a little cooler today and through the weekend.
Sounds heavenly :)
Your garden is Lovely as Always. It's all tangled & enchanting like Magic. Must be Wonderful to just kick it there & dream of Fall, Winter & Spring.
Last night was SO beautiful. Even way down here in the city it felt like Autumn. The heat is returning tho. Ugh! i HATE Summer & i kinda feel sad saying that. i mean, Summer is supposed to be a time to go outside & enjoy nature & whatnot. But man, it's just always SO ugly Hot in Philly. It just feels dead outside. Fall is the season that feels SO Lush & Full of Life! Ahhh, i'm just hanging on tight waiting for this plane to land so i can get the eff off & Live again!
I saw my first Halloween decorations at a store yesterday, but it doesn't feel like Fall up here in N.W. Washington state. I have noticed though that the shadows are getting longer because the sun is lower in the horizon every day.
I'm now convinced that my favorite time of year is definitely Fall. 20 years ago I would have said it was Summer, but as you get older, things change.
I can't wait.
Mr. Macabre
Looks wonderful! I like the bird bath on the porch.
Lovely pics Rot! It's been feeling wonderful here in NC as well. Also, have you ever saw an old whiskey barrel carved into a JACK-O-LANTERN? Couple small tea lights and it would be killer! I made a stainless steel fire pot for camping with several Jacko faces in it. I'll send ya some pics once I burn in it.
Thanks, everyone : )
I never saw such a thing. Would love to see photos!
That is a lovely, autumn-dreamy garden. We gave up on grass a few years ago. Turns out flowers are way more fun - and they don't look bad in a Halloween cemetery. Not that I ever had that in mind. ;)
