I was a bit surprised by it, but I've heard some pretty good things about this movie from a few folks whose opinions I trust.
On the surface, it doesn't seem like we'd need another killer doll flick, but word is that it manages to operate as campy comedy, winking satire, and horror film all at once. (Admittedly, it's a small data set, but kind of encouraging)
It can be a bit tricky getting the balance of ingredients right in order to produce a good gumbo, but it seems that there is a chance that this might be one.
I think that's what has me most interested. Been hearing really good things from people I respect. Like how can they be wrong about a killer doll movie? haha
Dolls are creepy, all of them. Not the kind of creepy that makes you want to run from them, but the kind that makes you not want to be alone in the same room with them. I think part of that comes from Robert Shaw's description of a sharks eyes in "Jaws". The trailer shows promise, and I read an article that said the producers are interested in a sequel. I'll reserve comment on that until I see the movie.
