I never realized I had Autumnal cocktail needs. Thanks for sharing. What types of cocktails would one use these in?
Old fashioneds for sure, but I’ll add them to seltzers too. And just a dash in a regular bourbon with ice.
Huh.
It occurs to me that while I have what seems like a decent variety of bitters sitting in the bar, I do not own any star anise OR clove.
Given that the existing assortment includes lonely little absurdities like peach and celery bitters, this seems like an obvious oversight that merits correction...
Celery? I bow to you!
Yep, celery.
It was included in an assortment of "Scrappy's Bitters", and is used just about as often as one might imagine.
He's a forgotten and forlorn little fellow...maybe I'll go for a Bloody Mary or two this weekend just to cheer him up.
