I remember a friend of my father's coming over the house when I was young. He looked pale and distraught. And was rambling about something. My parents calmed him down and he said "..on the way over here...I saw police cars....shining a light into a tree....so I looked up....there was a man...hanging in the tree! a man!"

In my mind, I always hear, "You will be hanged by the neck until you cheer up!"
Whenever I see a hanging man prop, this story always goes through my mind;

I've seen my share of the real ones. I always found it an odd way to choose to go. Very few are found in trees, but they sure look like props when I get one. This is one prop that I don't think I would make. I'd hate to remind a family member of such a horrific thing.
Yeah, for the same reason I have never been able to even think about putting one of these in the display.
Besides not being "long dead" - which is our standard.....it just makes me feel creepy....in the not good way.
