All houses wherein men have lived and died
Are haunted houses. Through the open doors
The harmless phantoms on their errands glide,
With feet that make no sound upon the floors.

One of my favorite seasonal poems.
Longfellow really nailed it- "a spirit world around this world of sense" floating like an atmosphere....
Thanks, Rot.
Stunning photo.
Trust me, most houses are haunted. I've been to so many here. New and old. Sad and happy deaths. (how do I put the next line in italics?)
Tortured and stricken.
