Fire in a haunt? Yikes! As much as I like the mystery of fire, you won't catch me using it in a haunt where anyone could knock the torch over. By the way, I absolutely LOVE the photo currently used in the header! All that glass- is is a greenhouse? Or is it Mr. Skelly in the conservatory with a candlestick, tee-hee.
There certainly is an element added that can't be beat. Flickering shadows...a sense of awe..like "this is for real..."
We saw a firepit on someone's lawn last halloween. THAT was something awesome to behold. Cornstalks and lights and a roaring fire in the center of the lawn.

I admit it kinda scares me too, but I'm drawn to the concept. Maybe if the torch is away from the path the kids will take to get candy.
Then again, I've seen many a yard party with tiki torches and tiny kids running around.
Just in my opinion, the use of fire in a haunt is a must....
