Thank you SO much for posting this. I have never seen Trick 'R Treat (due to parents), but if there is one movie I could choose to watch, this is is. I am DYING to see it.
Anyway, this afternoon I went onto your blog, saw that you had made a new post, and yelped out loud "New Post!".
My mum happened to hear and came over to see what I was excited about. She saw me watching the video, and asked what it was. I said that it was a teaser for 'the best movie of all time'. She asked me if I had seen it. I said "No, but I've begged you many times to no avail,".
Her calm reply was, "Well, this is only a halloween movie, and looks like just your sort of thing. You can watch it if you want,". I was absolutely stunned.
So we went down to the video shop, got it out, and mum has even decided that she wants to watch it with me. :)
I'm clutching it under my arm as I type, thanks to you. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Hmmmm... Not sure if the hot-and-steamy "camp-scene" featuring the wolf-women is something one would want to view with mom present but, good luck anyway Marrow! Also, this Sam short has the best visual punch-line of the 3 vinettes so far in my opinion. However, it just kinda' makes me feel more and more frustrated waiting for a legit full-length TrT sequel to come along.
I saw this the other day on FB... the Trick 'r Treat movie people posted it yesterday. Very awesome! I loved it! I can't wait to sit down and watch it again this season!
Watched it on Friday night. Truly incredible. It's overtaken (the original) Fright Night and has become my fav movie.
I watched it by myself the first time (with a Dark Carnival candle burning). The next day I watched it with Mum. Her only slight objection was when Charlie vomited all over the stairs. She quietly sang along to the music in the werewoman scene :)
Marrow, that is absolutely awesome! I too had parents who weren't all that keen on my love of horror, and discouraged it. Well, we see how well THAT went! Haha! TrT is an absolutely fantastic film, all the way around, and the perfect compliment for the Halloween season.
It's interesting that Rot suggests Carpenter's The Thing, as it was the first movie of its sort that I was able to talk my mother into renting for me. She thought it would be okay, since she remembered the original being hokey. Well....she was terrified, and I was THRILLED! Glad you were able to have such a great experience with this flick.
