J.P. at The Haunted Gallery blog is on to something.
I'm really excited about his project to bring the journey of Ichabod Crane to life in the form of a soundscape track. This story has always been such a major part of Halloween to me.
Finding this map on his blog, a soundscape map, was a hoot.
The logistics of this is pretty darn impressive, and I can't wait for the finished product.
(I was lucky enough to hear a sample of this, and it's absolutely amazing.)

Interesting concept. It already sounds better than the Tarrytown's haunted hayride.
A couple of years ago I went to the Sleepy Hollow Headless Horseman hayride (not to be confused with the Headless Horseman attraction in Ulster Park, NY), thinking it was a natural Halloween event. Not! It was absolutely horrible as they chose not to stick with the Washington Irving story, but veered off into some loony tale about "vampirates."
They supposed followed the same route Ichabod Crane took and the wagon went through the cemetery. I suppose out of respect for the dead there were no props there, but in a moonless, misty night you couldn't even tell you were in a graveyard.
Nor was than any attempt to tie the lone bridge we crossed into the storyline -- even if it wasn't the same. Who'd know?!
