A while back I mentioned that I worked on some props for an independent film. Shocktillyoudrop.com just featured a bunch of photos and some details about the movie. Directed by Karl Mueller, it's called Mr. Jones, and it stars Sarah Jones and Jon Foster. It'll be showing at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York this April.
I'll do a blog entry about how it all went down, but I wanted to post the pics and the article. Super SUPER excited here. So thrilled to see it's finally ready to be shown and marketed. And the pics look really cool.

Awesome! I can't wait to hear how long it took to build, preproduction, how they approached you (slowly), etc. I wonder if they would show it eventually on fearnet or something like that cause it would be cool to see your work on the big screen (in my living room).

Crazy to finally see photos from the film. I saw some production shots a while back, but these are really cool.
Some of Bean's photos were used in the film as well. Sarah Jones' character is a photographer.

Not only do the props look absolutely incredible (and is that Roots I see in there?!), but the film looks and sounds A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
They posted a synopsis on Bloody Disgusting, and seems like you were infact the inspiration for the entire film:
"Scott (Jon Foster) is a filmmaker in need of inspiration. He and his girlfriend Penny move into a desolate house hoping to make a breakthrough. Then they discover their neighbor, the elusive Mr. Jones. Famous for his haunting sculptures, Mr. Jones has remained a mystery to the world. Scott and Penny, convinced that they have found the perfect film subject, sneak into his workshop and realize that their curiosity may have chilling consequences. Who is Mr. Jones?”

Yeah, that's Roots in there.
That poor thing was rotting away in my parents' attic. So I figured film would be a great final resting place. He got a total makeover.
2013 is turning out to be a very good year for you and Bean. And it's only March.

Watched this last night, the imagery you created was beautiful, but as I watched, I couldn't help but feel you may have been the inspiration for this character...not to say you are a sociopath, but how you like to remain anonymous all the while creating these amazingly creepy and hauntingly gorgeous scarecrows.

I saw Mr. Jones at a press screening when I volunteered for the festival. I enjoyed the film. But most of all I enjoyed your work. For years I wanted to know who created the pieces for the film (they were my favorite element of the film). Today I found out while researching DIY Halloween scarecrows. Sick work! Would love to know more about the process for you regarding Mr. Jones.

I'm a bit behind the times but I just watched Mr. Jones, and I have to say, the thing that MADE the film was Rot's scarecrows....it set the tone of the movie as the thing you fear, being something primal and ancient...I thoroughly enjoyed it. They should have called it Mr. J.

Rot, ScareRookie here, I just wanted to say thank you for all that you do. I became fascinated with yard haunting in the late 90's surfing the web and printing everything I could find for cool DIY props. Later on, I came across your sight and it put into prospective how I could step up my game when it comes to scene creation and display. You truly inspired me and I am so glad to see your back. You have an incredible eye for detail and presentation and it continues to make me strive to do better.
