Dearest FX Crate

No way to contact you, but if you're reading this, or if someone else can contact them, can you kindly use an image of one of your products for your website and Facebook page?  Makes more sense to show something you've made.  As opposed to something I've made.

Thanks,
Rot

PS (Update)  The image has been changed.

Unbelievable!!! I wonder if you can file a suit.

Crazy. Some people think they can just use whatever they want.

But didn't your mommy teach you to share? I know mine didn't.

It's just odd because it's a new "company"... like wouldn't you WANT to showcase your own stuff? Just strange.

Lame.My guess is that they don't have anything to show.

At least they "borrowed" a shot from someone that nobody in the Halloween world knows...

Well just consider it a compliment :)

Did you try looking up where the web site is registered and go that route to find them? If its on the internet its fair game seems to be the attitude these days.

According to the terms of service of the provider, launchrock.com, they claim to own all images. https://www.launchrock.com/legal/terms-of-service. You could contact them at support@launchrock.com, or contact the parent company, https://www.startups.co.

You can find their web hosting service and send an email explaining that the site is using your intellectual property without permission. They'll have you fill out an official complaint and bring the matter to the website owner's attention.

From there you should have them pay you a license fee to use the image, or have them credit you for the work.

Not sure that it will help ... but I sent their "provider" a message and pointed out that their agreement states that whatever is posted is either original content or they have a license to use it and that hosting and "promoting" it makes them liable as well.

They've been informed

I agree with Jeanne. Might be good to nip it in the bud before they have pasted one of your images onto some crappy pumpkin carving kit. I mean I would love to see your stuff everywhere but you should be getting paid for it.

Yeah, but, Rot--ain't nothin' around to compare with your work and most everybody knows it. All of us aspire to it. Still, it's very wrong on their part...such a shame there is little one can do about this kind of stuff (unless, of course, one has many dollars to file suit). It is still a testament to your Halloween genius. Your work is incomparable.

Thanks, guys.
They changed the image.

I really appreciate it when you guys are out there looking out for me and my weird stuff : )

Shoot!!!! I had my torch lit and pitchfork all dusted off and ready. I never get to use that pitchfork....darn it!!!

That weird stuff means a hell of a lot to many of us, if I can be so bold.

Least we can do.

Crazy, I've seen that same image used last year for a haunt ad as well. Notified them that it was your image, dont know if they did anything about it. Its just such a damn perfect image that the temptation to use it must be too great!
