I was testing my fog machines yesterday, as Halloween just wouldn't be the same without clouds of fog moving through the neighborhood. Both checked out just fine, but I became aware of just how odd Haunting must be to the outsider. I thought of this as I grew bored and pointed the fog machine into my garage and let it look like a house fire was starting.
Click below for a VERY cool fog test I found... total fog envy.

I finally built the trash can chiller version for this year. I used the rigid metal dryer duct vs the slinky type.
Man that’s cool!
One of my fog machines crapped out last week when I was testing them. Now I only have one....
I still haven’t got the chiller perfected yet.
That is the perfect fog. I tried fog machines a few years ago and could't get them to do much. I'm sure it was operator errors. This video makes me want to try again...maybe.
Ok guys, all advice welcome. I need recs for the cheapest but best bang for your buck fog machine. Any suggestions? I think I bought a basic one at Michael's with a 50% off coupon ages and ages ago but is that a stupid place to purchase one now? Should I do Amazon? Home Depot? Help!
i'd suggest any metal 1000 watt fogger...but it most likely won't come with this controller...so you should buy it

Ok, great, thanks!!! How long are these supposed to last? If used only once a year? Nightmare scenario: they run like my epson printer . ugh.
I’m trying the frozen water bottle in the black drain pipe method this year. First time I’m trying any chilled fog of any form, usually just have the fogger rolling. Of course I only have 1 and although I plan on getting a second later this year, this will probably be the year my old reliable, no brand fog machine craps out. It has never failed me, but this will probably be the year...
Oh it helps to have really good fog juice, like froggy’s.

Thanks, VS!
Sara, Got mine on amazon. No, not cheap.
After using for the season, empty all fog fluid and run distilled water through the machine. Fog fluid has sugar in it basically.
Froggys fog juice is AMAZING.
Sara, both my fog machines were bought at Spirit stores. And lasted several years in a hot Florida attic. So the volume and controller that you can buy add a spirit store can help regulate timing and volume of fog you just have to make sure it plugs into your fog machine i.e. the right shape plug . Just like different smart phones chargers. Chilling it can be as easy as frozen water bottles thru a irritation tube. Just experiment have fun!
Mine definitely last a few years...maybe four or five?
one of my two has slowed down...so it takes longer to warm up so the fog juice can be evaporated... Though I'm not exactly kind to them.
And probably don't store them properly.
Man..i LOVE the fog in all the universal monsters graveyard scenes. especially..in the wolf man..it's SO romantic. good fog definitely becomes it's own character in a movie or haunt. my next favourite fog is JC's fog in..THE FOG. that fog IS poetic.
the best tho..is when someone insists on turning on the fog machine INSIDE the Free Library's Halloween party for the kids. looks really cool too..right before we all can't breathe & pass out. HAHAHAHHA!!! ahhhhhh.good times tho.
Thanks, guys!!
