Previously posted on the blog many years ago, and wanted to re-feature it. It's an old photo taken by a Flickr.com user back in 2006. Easily one of the most captivating Halloween images I have ever seen. It would make a wonderful oil painting. You can see a skull decoration off to the right in the shadows. And you can feel that cold nervousness when you were a kid and Trick-or-Treating had officially begun.

Definitely an evocative image, and one that does seem to house all of the magic, mystery, and potential of the Trick-or-Treat adventure to come.
That image IS that moment when you head out with the 'anything-could-be-lurking-out-here' anticipation pit sitting in your stomach, and loving it.
It's being 9 years old and going house to house in the dark; your mind turning every shadow into a barely concealed monster, and every outline in the dark morphing into something sinister...
**sigh**
Holy cow. This is incredible.
Yeah. It's a goodn'.
So alluring! I can see why you reposted this photo. I'm transported back to a time that can't be reclaimed.
That's a nice way of putting it!
And, R.M., that was perfect!
Very cool.
Mr. Macabre
I remember this one! I loved it.
It’s one of the best ever.
I wish I could jump in to this photo. The Halloween magic is palpable.
This DOES need to be a painting. I might have to do it
