Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts

Invented by Bill Post in 1964 and currently available in about a thousand flavors, the pumpkin pie varietal of Pop-Tarts is finally out.

The person who chose those Autumnal/Halloweenish colored topping crumbs deserves a raise.

First World Crisis

I haven't had a pop tart in a very long time, so when I walked up the cereal aisle at the local grocery store and spotted a box boasting NOW WITH MORE FROSTING I was pretty excited.  I've often wondered who were the people who purchased the ugly dry pop tarts with zero frosting.  Just seems like if you're going to eat something so sweet and odd that you might as well jump in head first.  I've never been one to believe that too much of a good thing isn't good, so I bought a box of strawberry pop tarts NOW WITH MORE FROSTING and couldn't wait to get to the car to eat them (though now I'm kicking myself for not checking to see if they had the brown sugar ones NOW WITH MORE FROSTING [my personal favorite pop tarts]).  I tore open the weird foil and saw something very similar to the below photo.  Mine actually had LESS frosting.  And I'm a little jealous of the ones below as their frosting actually sorta made it to both sides.  Mine had about a half inch of ugly dry pop tart on the left and right long sides of the tart.

As the person who posted the below photo stated:  Life is full of lies.

The only positive of this story is that when I tossed the box out of the window as I drove, they hit a homeless man in the face.

(that sounded funnier in my head.)

Sorry, but I draw the line at sending one email to Kellogg's about pumpkin pop tarts. I can't really see myself going into a Walmart and asking to see the manager about this.

Pumpkin Pie Pop Tarts

A parcel arrived today from New Hampshire. From my buddy Jon. Contained therein was an amazing array of Halloween items of every sort. And to my over-the-top excitement, there was a box of pumpkin pie pop tarts included.

And I'm not just saying this because they're beautiful and made with big beautiful (assumption) pumpkins - but they're AMAZING. Truly an incredible product. Not overly sweet, and with a strong flavor of true pumpkin pie (pumpkin is actually in the ingredients).

Just look at those colors! How could this NOT be amazing.

When/If Target finally stocks their shelves with these things, I'm going to start hoarding.

Thanks, Jon!
