Freddy: One Last Time
Robert Englund "Freddy Krueger" Makeup Photo-Op Package
A Flashback Weekend Exclusive! August 8, 2014
$350* + $15.00 Service Fee = $365.00
Flashback to Elm Street and have your photo taken with the man of
your dreams, iconic horror actor Robert Englund in the make-up of his
famous character, Freddy Krueger, one final time. Robert Englund’s “Freddy Krueger” make up will be designed and applied by FX master artist Robert Kurtzman in the same extensive process used in the “NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET” films.
This is crazy to ponder. Imagine meeting Freddy Krueger, but not Robert Englund. This has so much potential to be strange and weird and uncomfortable...though it JUST might be awesome if done right.
How it SHOULD go down:
1. You pay that dreaded fee and they make you feel like a hero.
2. You are told to go into a very dark room that makes you feel disoriented, like one of those weird skewed-perspective rooms.
3. You hear your name whispered and a floor board squeak.
4. Freddy is in your face with REAL finger blades.
5. Freddy tells you this isn't a joke and it's not a photo-op.
I wonder how many horror fans will slip him a twenty and beg him to slash their faces. It'd be the story/scar of a lifetime.

The old Garden Crow over this year's pumpkin vines (and a friend). |

A new Garden Crow over a Coneflower bed (and the start of a stumpery). |

Abandoned
A boy exploring an apparently vacant house in Dayton, Ohio Sunday
received a nasty shock when he saw what was inside the closet: the
hardened, leathery body of a man whom officials say may have died nearly
five years earlier.

Birth Of The Living Dead
Can't recommend this documentary more highly. Figured it'd be similar to past zombie docs (Doc of the Dead), with zombie walks and zombie survival guides and the condescending Max Brooks, but it's none of those things. Just an incredibly well-made and informative tale of how Romero's Night of the Living Dead came to be.
The trailer below doesn't do it justice, so trust me.
It's currently on Netflix Streaming.

Spiced Orange
Found a local place that sells this amazing alcoholic ginger beer. The original is wonderful, but there's an orange variety that's perfect for Autumn. Or whenever. Like after you cut the grass.
Robocop
The remake turned out to be a pretty decent stand-alone film that did nothing to tarnish all the things I dug about the original. More of a drama than an action-packed scifi film, and that was just fine with me.

Dude, That Goalie Was Pissed About Something.
We watched a Friday the 13th marathon yesterday. It was awful.
I was surprised that Jason doesn't wear the hockey mask until the middle of the third film. My current theory is that this isn't really discussed or shared in horror movie trivia due to the fact that these films are horrible. And nobody cares.
The first and second weren't THAT bad (no hockey mask), but the third is horrid (hockey mask).

Battle Hill Forge
I'm looking forward to the day my mind starts to go and I leave Halloween props out all year long.
This photo is amazing.
