Looks like Tim Burton will be directing a 3D stop-motion film based on the original comic characters of The Addams Family.

As a great fan of the work of Charles Addams, I must approve of this course of action.
Of course, what I really want to see is a Tim Burton adaptation of Edward Gorey's work.
oh, cool! I just adore Tim Burton's work; however, I must admit that I haven't seen "alice" yet. I guess I'm strange, but I've never been a huge fan of hers...
I want to know how YOU feel about this, Rot.
Are you a fan of Mr. Burton?
Do you think he'll ruin or perfect or simply exploit our favorite childhood show?
It's really kinda mixed for me when it comes to Burton. His films have beautiful elements, but I'm not the biggest fan of the finished product.
I love his designs and sketches and they've led to some of the most amazing props. And SLEEPY HOLLOW was wonderful to watch for all the Halloween imagery and design.
So I'm cool with this happening with the Addams Family. I was never really into that show or the source material...I was a Munsters guy...and an Edward Gorey guy...for whatever reason. I blame it on environment.
Edward Gorey rocks! I think Burton's older stuff works well, but, his newer work is all eye candy and not much story...Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a prime example, and while I haven't seen Alice yet, most people I talk to say how pretty it was and speak nothing of the storyline...
